Wholesale Cabinets: 5-7 Day Stock, No Licence Needed

fabuwood-cabinetry-wholesale cabinets

“Wholesale” gets used loosely in the cabinet business. Some places mean a trade-only account with a licence check. Some mean a discount you get once you spend enough. And plenty of sites use the word purely to rank for it, then quote you the same price as everyone else.

Here is what it means at In Stock Today Cabinets, stated plainly so you can decide in about a minute whether it is worth your call. We are an authorized Fabuwood and FIBO distributor with six showrooms and stock on the floor, and we sell to contractors, builders, dealers and homeowners at competitive rates. No professional licence is required to buy from us.

Who qualifies for wholesale pricing

A contractor, a dealer and a builder reviewing cabinet door samples at an In Stock Today Cabinets showroom counter
Contractors, builders, dealers and homeowners buy at the same counter. No licence, no resale certificate, no trade account.

This is the question we get most, and the answer is simpler than most of our competitors make it.

You do not need a contractor licence, a resale certificate or a trade account to buy from us. Contractors, builders, remodelers, kitchen dealers and homeowners all buy at competitive rates. Contractors and authorized dealers get wholesale pricing; homeowners buy direct without needing professional licensing.

That is a deliberate choice, and it is worth understanding why it cuts both ways. A trade-only supplier can offer deeper discounts because they are only serving one customer type and their overheads reflect that. We run showrooms with displays, designers and stock on the floor, which costs more but means a contractor can send a client in to choose a finish instead of handing them a PDF. If you want the absolute lowest number per box and you do not need any of that, a trade-only outfit or a container-direct importer will beat us. If you want stock you can collect this week and a showroom your client can walk into, that is the trade we are making.

Practical note for contractors: ask about credit terms and bulk pricing when you call. Neither is published, both exist, and what you are quoted depends on volume and how you order. Bring the job, not just the question.

What “wholesale” actually means here

We are an authorized distributor, not a middleman marking up someone else’s order. We buy Fabuwood and FIBO directly, hold inventory across six warehouses, and sell from that stock. There is no third party between the manufacturer and your job.

In practice that means three things:

  • The price is the price. You are not paying a distributor’s margin on top of a dealer’s margin.
  • Stock is real and local. When we say a configuration is available, it is on a floor you can drive to, not “available to order” from a factory queue.
  • Warranty runs through us. As the authorized dealer we handle the claim rather than pointing you at a manufacturer’s web form. Worth knowing, because with any cabinet brand the dealer is the single biggest factor in how a warranty claim actually goes.

What it does not mean is a secret trade price list. Cabinet pricing moves with configuration, finish, modifications and volume, which is why nobody credible publishes a flat wholesale number. Anyone who does is quoting you a base cabinet and leaving the rest for the invoice.

What trade pricing looks like

Individual Fabuwood cabinets at our showrooms generally run $300 to $700 per cabinet depending on size and configuration. A full semi-custom kitchen installed typically lands in the $300 to $500 per linear foot range, again depending on door style, finish and modifications.

Those are ranges, not quotes, and there is a reason we will not narrow them on a web page. Affordable is a comparison, not a price point: the same kitchen is cheap or expensive depending entirely on which line you specify. The same 10-by-10 kitchen swings by thousands depending on which Fabuwood line you specify. Value Premium and Quest sit meaningfully below Allure. A custom paint match adds both cost and weeks. Modifications — cut-down depths, chase cuts, finished ends — are priced per item and stack up fast on a job with awkward walls.

Two itemized kitchen cabinet quotes compared side by side on a showroom counter
Itemized, on the same layout, same line. That is the only way two cabinet quotes compare honestly.

How to compare two cabinet quotes properly

Get both itemized by cabinet, on the same layout, with the same line specified, and every modification priced separately. A lump-sum quote hides where the money went, and a cheaper headline number very often has thinner boxes, unbranded hardware or a shorter warranty underneath it. If you want the detail on what actually separates cabinet lines, our Fabuwood vs. CNC Cabinetry comparison walks through plywood thickness, drawer joinery and hardware brand line by line.

Stock and lead time, the real advantage

If there is one reason to buy from a stocking distributor rather than the cheapest source you can find, this is it.

Stocked Fabuwood configurations — Allure, Quest and Value Premium — ship in roughly 5 to 7 business days. Many items can be collected the same day from a showroom if the configuration is on the floor. A special-order cabinet job, by contrast, commonly runs 8 to 12 weeks.

On a flip with carrying costs, or a client living through a renovation, that gap is usually worth more than the difference in box price. It is also the thing most likely to go wrong on a job: cabinets are the long pole in almost every kitchen schedule, and everything downstream — countertop template, plumbing, backsplash, final inspection — waits on them.

Two honest caveats. Custom paint matches break the fast lane — budget six to eight weeks and order early. And “in stock” is configuration-specific: a common base cabinet in a popular finish is a very different question from an odd-size wall cabinet in a low-volume colour. Ask about your actual list, not the brand.

Stocked configurations against a special order on the same kitchen. Custom paint matches and modifications add weeks to either route.

What we carry: kitchen, vanities and wall panels

Fabuwood door styles and finishes on display at an In Stock Today Cabinets showroom

Most people arrive here looking for kitchen cabinets, but the trade side of the business runs wider than that.

  • Kitchen cabinets. Fabuwood Allure, Quest, Value Premium, the European-style frameless Illume line and the all-plywood American frameless Ovela line. Framed and frameless, full overlay, in the finishes that actually turn over.
  • Bathroom vanities. Fabuwood’s vanity collection, in the same finishes as the kitchen lines so a whole-house job matches. Worth asking about on any multi-bathroom project.
  • FIBO waterproof wall panels. We are an authorized FIBO distributor. Useful on bathroom and shower work where tile labour is the thing blowing the budget.
  • Cabinet doors and accessories. Every door style we carry is on the cabinet doors page.

Door styles in Frost

Frost is the white that moves fastest, and Fabuwood classifies it as a Signature finish — the tier the manufacturer describes as its most popular stocked finishes, ready when you are. That is exactly why it sits at the fast end of the lead-time chart above. These four door styles cover all three of the stocked series.

A sample, not the full catalogue. Allure alone runs to six door styles, and each carries Signature, Signature Select and Designer finish tiers, only the first of which is stocked. Ask which are on the floor at your nearest showroom before you specify.

What goes wrong on a cabinet order, and how we help

Before writing this section we went and read what contractors, remodelers and homeowners actually say in public when a cabinet order goes wrong. Four complaints come up again and again. None of them are about price.

1. The wrong line shows up, and nobody catches it

The most expensive version of this: a buyer paid for the upgraded line and received the cheaper one, particleboard boxes with stapled drawers instead of plywood and dovetails. It was only spotted after the cabinets were installed, and removing and resetting them cost 1,400 dollars on top of the delay. Their own summary of the lesson was blunt: “I just trusted it would be right.” A manufacturer’s employee in the same thread explained why it slips through, noting they enter orders exactly as received and see hundreds every day (r/kitchenremodel, thread).

What we do: we quote by cabinet with the line named and modifications priced separately, so a substitution is visible on paper before anything ships. And because we run showrooms with stock on the floor, you can put your hands on the actual door and box you are specifying instead of approving it from a PDF.

2. Damage is found at install, not at delivery

Boxes sit sealed on site until install day, and the damage surfaces with the crew standing there. One homeowner found it a month after delivery and could not work out whose job the inspection had been. As a commenter in that thread put it, damaged cabinets on delivery are “common”, and the argument about who should have opened the boxes starts only once it is too late to matter (r/kitchenremodel, thread).

What we do: ask us to confirm which specific items on your list are on the floor, and open the cartons before your crew is booked, not on install morning. On stocked configurations a replacement is a showroom collection rather than a factory order, which is the entire difference between a bad morning and a bad month.

3. The replacement is what wrecks the schedule, not the damage

One damaged door on a special order does not cost you a door, it costs you the reorder. A rush replacement was quoted at three weeks in one thread; another buyer waited two months. The point a commenter made is the one that matters on a job: the client is left without a kitchen the whole time replacements are being ordered.

What we do: stocked Fabuwood configurations in the Allure, Quest and Value Premium lines run 5 to 7 business days, and many items can be collected the same day when the configuration is on the floor. That is the gap in the chart above, and on a flip with carrying costs it is usually worth more than the difference in box price.

4. Nobody owns the problem

The designer points at the manufacturer, the manufacturer points at the order, the installer points at the delivery, and the person paying absorbs it. One buyer was offered a partial refund on condition the warranty was voided going forward (r/HomeImprovement, thread). The complaint underneath all of these is not really about cabinets. It is that nobody offered a solution.

What we do: you buy from a showroom with an address and a phone number, from people who will still be there on the day something goes wrong. Every location on this page lists a direct line. That is not a warranty claim, it is just a shorter chain than a checkout page and a support inbox.

If you are running jobs in our area

We stock for trade work across the DC metro and Northern Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, greater Houston and the northwest Chicago suburbs. On a multi-unit or repeat job the two things worth asking about on the first call are credit terms and bulk pricing. Neither is published, both exist, and what you are quoted depends on volume and how you order.

No licence, no resale certificate and no trade account are required to open a conversation, and there is no published minimum order. If your job is outside the delivery footprint, we will say so rather than quote it.

How to get a trade quote

  1. Send what you have. A measured layout is ideal. A rough sketch with wall lengths and ceiling height is enough to start.
  2. Tell us the deadline. This decides the line as much as the budget does. A hard date pushes you toward stocked configurations.
  3. Say what the job is. Rental, flip, spec build and forever-home all point at different lines, and we would rather say so than sell you up.
  4. Ask about credit terms and bulk pricing if you are a contractor. Neither is published; both exist.
  5. Get it itemized. We quote by cabinet with modifications priced separately, so you can compare it honestly against anything else on your desk.

No deposit is required for a design consultation, and there is no account to open before you can get a number. If you are searching for wholesale cabinets near you rather than online, the question that actually matters is which showroom holds your configuration today, so it is worth naming your city when you call.

Free catalogues: pricing and specifications

If you would rather look before you call, the cabinet line catalogues and the FIBO wall panel catalogues cover door styles, finishes, box construction and full specifications. No account to open and no sales call attached to the download.

When we are not the right supplier

Four quick ones, because they save everyone a phone call.

  • Lowest cost per box, nothing else. A container-direct importer will beat a dealer with showrooms.
  • True inset doors or a cherry line. Fabuwood’s semi-custom catalogue does not offer either. Our Fabuwood vs. Shiloh comparison covers what that tier costs.
  • Outside the delivery footprint. Past the DC metro, Maryland, Delaware, greater Houston and the northwest Chicago suburbs, freight stops making sense.
  • A published price list. We do not have one. Send us the layout and you get a real number.

Wholesale cabinet FAQs

Do I need a contractor licence to buy wholesale cabinets?

Not at In Stock Today Cabinets. Contractors, builders, dealers and homeowners are all welcome, and no professional licensing is required to purchase. Contractors and authorized dealers receive wholesale pricing; homeowners buy direct at competitive rates. Some trade-only suppliers do require a licence or resale certificate, so it is worth asking anywhere else you shop.

How much do wholesale kitchen cabinets cost?

Individual Fabuwood cabinets generally run $300 to $700 each depending on size and configuration, and a full semi-custom kitchen typically installs in the $300 to $500 per linear foot range. Those are ranges rather than quotes, because the same kitchen swings by thousands depending on which line you specify, whether you need a custom paint match, and how many modifications the walls demand. Ask for an itemized written quote before you budget a job.

Is there a minimum order for wholesale pricing?

We do not publish a minimum order. Bulk pricing and contractor credit terms are available on enquiry and depend on volume and how you order, so the practical answer is that larger jobs get better numbers. Bring the job rather than the question and we can be specific.

How fast can I actually get cabinets?

Stocked Fabuwood configurations in the Allure, Quest and Value Premium lines typically ship in 5 to 7 business days, and many items can be collected the same day from a showroom if the configuration is on the floor. A special-order cabinet job more commonly runs 8 to 12 weeks. The important caveat is that a custom paint match breaks the fast lane entirely — budget six to eight weeks for one and order early.

Do you sell wholesale bathroom vanities too?

Yes. We stock Fabuwood’s vanity collection in the same finishes as the kitchen lines, which matters on whole-house jobs where the kitchen and bathrooms need to match. We are also an authorized FIBO distributor for waterproof wall panels, which are worth pricing on bathroom and shower work where tile labour is driving the budget.

What is the difference between a wholesale distributor and a cabinet dealer?

An authorized distributor buys directly from the manufacturer and holds its own inventory. A dealer may order through a distributor, which adds a margin and a step to the supply chain. We are an authorized Fabuwood and FIBO distributor with stock across six warehouses, so there is no third party between the factory and your job — and warranty claims run through us rather than a manufacturer web form.

Do you deliver, or do I have to collect?

Both. Many stocked items can be picked up the same day at a showroom, and delivery is available across our service areas: the DC metro, Maryland, Delaware, greater Houston and the northwest Chicago suburbs. Ask your nearest showroom about delivery timing for your specific list, since it depends on what is on that floor.

Are cheap wholesale cabinets worth it for a rental or flip?

Often yes, and we will say so. On a rental or flip, cost per box and speed matter more than a lifetime warranty you cannot transfer to a tenant — most cabinet warranties exclude rental use anyway, so budget as though there is none. What we would not skip even on a rental is a plywood box and a dovetailed drawer, because those are what fail first under hard use. Fabuwood’s Value Premium and Quest lines are built for exactly this job.

Can I see the cabinets before I order?

Yes, and on a trade job we would encourage it. All six showrooms carry physical displays of the most-specified door styles and finishes, so you can open a drawer, feel the door weight and check a finish under real light before committing a client’s money. It is also the fastest way to settle a finish argument, since screen colour is unreliable.

Where is the best place to buy kitchen cabinets wholesale?

Where to buy kitchen cabinets wholesale comes down to which trade-off you are willing to make, and anyone who answers it without asking about your job is selling. A container-direct importer or a trade-only warehouse will beat a stocking dealer on cost per box, but you order blind and you wait. A stocking distributor with showrooms costs more per box and gives you stock on the floor, a finish you can put your hands on, and someone to call when a door arrives damaged. A full-service kitchen dealer costs more again and does the design and project management for you. We are the middle one. If the lowest possible number is the only thing that matters on your job, we will tell you so rather than waste your afternoon.

Can I buy kitchen cabinets direct from the manufacturer?

Usually not as an individual. Most established manufacturers, Fabuwood included, sell through authorized dealers and distributors rather than to the public, which is why so much of what markets itself as factory-direct is an online reseller rather than the factory. The genuinely direct route is ready-to-assemble stock shipped flat-packed, and that trade is real: you save on the box and take on assembly, freight-damage risk and whatever happens when a part is missing. Buying through a stocking distributor puts an assembled cabinet, a showroom and a phone number between you and those problems. Neither is the right answer for every job, and the honest way to choose is to price the same layout both ways.
